About UK CBAM Calculator

Joe, who reads HMRC's and HM Treasury's own CBAM publications and builds them into a calculator, each figure dated.

Why this site exists

HMRC publishes the rates, the worked example and the default values on separate pages. A calculator built on those exact figures lets an importer see its exposure in a minute.

Who it is for

UK importers of steel, aluminium, cement, fertiliser and hydrogen working out what the carbon border adjustment mechanism will cost them from 2027.

What is on this site

One question, "uk cbam calculator", answered with a calculator that works on the page with no account, 3 guides on the questions around it, a data table you can cite (the figures and their method), and the sources every figure rests on.

What it does not do

  • We do not give tax, legal, customs or investment advice.
  • We do not pass your enquiry to any firm.
  • We do not use a figure we have not read from HMRC, HM Treasury or DESNZ.

Who answers for it

Joseph Ellul-Turner, Director.

This calculator applies HMRC's published illustrative 2027 CBAM figures to what you enter; it is not tax, customs or legal advice, and HMRC's return is the figure you pay. An enquiry sent through the form is read and answered by Joe, who runs this site; no firm receives it.
